That's where I come in. With "Can You Read My Story?", I'll personally read your short story and give you thoughtful, constructive feedback from an experienced writer, author and writing mentor.

It's about helping you see your story through the eyes of another writer — someone experienced, who can tell you what's working, where you might want to look again, and perhaps give you the confidence to take the next step.
What I'll do with your story
I'll read your story from beginning to end, not just skim it looking for things to correct. I'll read it as a reader and as an experienced writer, looking at what draws me into the story, how well the characters work, whether the structure and pacing feel right, and whether your voice comes through. I'll also look carefully at the strength or the opening and ending, because those are often the places that can make a real difference to a short story.
Most importantly, I'll tell you what is working as well as what could be strengthened. You'll receive practical, constructive suggestions to help you develop the story without losing what makes it yours.
